As if the Passion of the Christ wasn't bad enough...

TimeLife is bringing its own, annoying religious beliefs, but not to a store near you!

This commercial actually got me awake during the time between Saint Seiya and Teen Titans (oh shut up), a feat not easily done. It put out the usual TimeLife crap–that same annoying announcer guy–and the overdramatization of what is just worthless.

Why bother posting about yet another one of those godawful products? Because I’m tired of all these things trying to bring religion into the big screen. Save it for sunday school…

Am I the only one who is annoyed when they try to shove religion down my throat? (TimeLife seems to think so)

Oh, and the link is http://www.timelife.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=OxFN5WRVCgFK4iQzVxUN6UKb3nIyhf3ZW1A=?ProductSKU=THBXX

They even have the commercial, downloadable. -_-;;;

Until then, “follow one man who has changed the world like no other.”

Nobody’s forcing you to watch Passion or accept what it says. Nor do you have to buy or believe their product. I’m athiest, but I see nothing wrong them marketing their products. If you don’t like it, change the channel. Nobody makes you watch it.

Meh, TimeLife has been pushing this stuff for a while…they just wanna <strike>rake in the bucks</strike> capitalize on the media sensation that the movie has made. (Althought I don’t see what the big deal is. Gratuitus blood n’ guts in a movie…whooptie-freakin’-doo)

I personally would like to see how much money Christian/Catholic based products rake in annually as opposed to say Pagan products.

I hate it with a passion.

  1. Thou shalt buy my products.

I’ve read this three times and I still don’t know what the fuck you’re complaining about. Care to clarify?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. No one’s trying to shove religion down your throat. Actually… your entire post is kinda stupid >>; It’s like you’re complaining for the sake of complaining. >>;

I don’t see what’s wrong with these movies. Jesus was as political as he was religious. It’s not like anyone’s preaching to you. Complaining about Bible movies makes about as much sense as complaining about either of the two shows you said you were watching. They’re stories.

Ironic that you’d use that adjective if you were so against religion. Quit preaching to me. No. Stop! Quit it! Don’t say the word God! It’s fire on my ears!

He gets annoyed and offended by the “recent” coverage of religion, which he is completely free and able to ignore. Which from what I can see is 1 movie and 1 TimeLife product. Besides the fact that, uh, it’s frickin’ TimeLife, why are you watching it?, that doesn’t seem to be all that much.

Timelife has had ads on Cartoon Network for ages. You know, the entire AOL Time-Warner thing, they own a lot of shit.

That’s why I watch NRK.
No advertisements! Wee!

The little red “Power” button is on your remote for a reason, Zeta. :stuck_out_tongue:

Who says that they are religious? I’ve seen atheist analases of Christ’s life as frequently as I’ve seen Christian. In fact, my best friend is going to college to study the history of early Christianity (among other things… she is the overachiever of the century)- AND SHE IS A WICCAN!

Perhaps some people find this stuff interesting whether or not they are religious in any way shape or form? Nobody can change your beliefs but you.

I have nothing to complain about in regards to religion. It’s not being shoved down anyone’s throat, as many would like to believe. So, to each his own. I guess I’m just a little too apathetic/uninterested in that sort of thing.
