It disgusts me that when i tell my friends i watch anime, they all think i’m beating the meat . . . i wish that all of the porn anime would just stop. I mean really . . . it’s alright when in an anime a girl happens to be wearing a little too little or they draw her figure a lil bit more than how an american would . . . but it’s insane how there are people that just make anime for perverts that just almost ruins the good anime for me. I enjoyed ghost in the shell where the major didn’t always wear enough and it was kind of twisted in some ways . . . but it wasn’t porn! I want to know what other people think . . .

What you describe as porn is actually called “Fan-Service” (i.e Scenes consisting of gratuitous sexuality, may it be a sexual pose, nudity or in the most extreme cases, softcore action).
I usually don’t like series dedicated EXCLUSIVELY to Fan-Service (Like Burn Up X) but I have to admit that Ikkitousen (The manga, not the anime) is hilarious.
No. In fact, Hentai is my least of my priorities when looking for anime. Not to say I still dont hunt it down once in a while. I just never think of it as much.
Well, it is anime. It’s japanese animation. It’s usually segregated from the more “acceptable” titles, for obvious reasons. Though some has crept into the mainstream anime world-Urotsukidoji, La blue Girl for instance.
Porn is porn. I don’t watch anime, even anime with pretty blatant fanservice (nudity in some cases), with lewd intentions, I watch it solely for the enterainment value. If I wanted something dirty, I’d specifically get something of that nature. I think the issue here is that you’re still young, and in turn so are your friends, not exactly making them the pinnicale of maturity.

well, i may be young . . . but i just think that there can be a point of too much fan service in even good anime because of the popularity in shows like la blue girl that have a lot of likeness to porn
I watch anime for the same reason I’d watch any normal show: the storyline and characters. However, there are people out there who prefer/enjoy hentai, and that’s their choice, just like someone who likes regular porn over here. You don’t have to like hentai, but it’s existance is no different from the live-action porn over here in relation to ‘normal’ shows. The only problem is that people who don’t know much about anime stereotype it all as hentai.
