How exactly is this accomplished? I know it has something to do with killing a lot of enemies in zariban and then talking to the water guardian, but he still doesn’t want to give me the damned thing.
I’ve never played… but let me try and help you out. Here’s a few things to keep in mind.

Count how many battles you have won. If you return to the Water Guardian early, your battle count resets to zero. 8(

It takes 70 to get the Cheer Trumpet

Save often, as the numbers can change randomly. If you REALLY want to play it safe, when you think you’re near the total, keep battling, then saving, and then talking to the Guardian. If he won’t hand over anything, reload your game, win some more battles, and try again. 8)
o.k., the guide says 100 kills which i’ve done many times to no avail.
