Announcing: The return of the Martinez RPGC Sagas!

Thanks, V. It’s always great to have you along.

I already have plotlines worked out for everybody… now I need to connect them into a larger story. And work in any last-minute addition, of course. So, everyone who has been thinking of joining but have not decided yet- hurry up!

Identity- Sairan. Self-proclaimed conqueror, occasionally drifts back to RPGC for reasons he doesn’t bother to think of, and manages to somehow be both smart and somewhat out of his mind.

Personality- He appears quite calm, collected, and intelligent at first…but if you spend any time with him, you’d probably start to notice he’s not exactly what one might call “mentally sound.” He really is pretty calm and intelligent most of the time, but he always seems to be planning something, and most of the time there’s no rhyme or reason to those plans or the subsequent results of those plans. Sairan is no longer obsessed with world conquest (though he still tries to do that whenever possible - everyone needs a hobby, after all), but it’s still pretty hard to tell what his motives are or even what side he’s really on most of the time.

Appearance- Looks for the most part like your standard stock anime character. Long, blue hair, and often wears a long red cloak over ordinary clothes or light armor. He possesses no strange or unusual physical characteristics, save one: his eyes are yellow and slitted, much like those of a cat’s. However, he has yet to find any significance to this.

Abilities- Sairan’s not the most powerful magician out there, and even he would admit it, but he does know some basic attack spells of just about each element, and possesses a good bit of skill with fire magic in particular. However, while he doesn’t hesitate to use the magic he has, his first choice of weapons in any fight is his sword, Zetsubou, which would be an ordinary katana if not for one detail: two glyphs carved into the blade. The first allows Sairan to split the weapon into two identical swords for…not exactly a short period of time, but still a limited one. The second allows Sairan to summon the sword to his side at any time he may need it. But just in case, he also keeps a small dagger concealed somewhere on him as a last resort.

Background- Sairan never thought he’d make the proverbial “mountain out of a molehill,” but apparently part of his mind disagreed with that.

While an old friend disappearing for no explainable reason can be one of those mentally-scarring moments, it never seemed to get to him very much when it happened to him many years ago. Eventually, he even forgot the name of this long-lost friend. And for most of his life, it never came back to bother him in any way.

…that is, until not long after the last time he was seen at RPGC, when he ran into a girl who looked exactly like what he imagined this lost friend would look like after so many years. Long story short, this mysterious girl was not his old friend, but instead a rather powerful sorceress who looked exactly like her and also ended up being the personified part of Sairan’s mind that was still going on about this. He’s not quite sure how this happened, but it still annoys him, especially since this sorceress ended up being the kind of villain that frequently shows up just to taunt him and not actually do anything else.

He’s still more or less the same as he always was (i.e. still travels around, occasionally returning to RPGC every once in a great while, and still thinks the world is corrupt enough to be worth conquering and changing if possible), but now he’s been spending some of his time looking into this. Unfortunately, neither he nor his self-inflicted antagonist recalls anything about this mysterious missing person, so he’s not holding his breath about finding anything.

In short, Sairan is currently an intelligent, somewhat insane individual who tries his best to ignore the fact that he accidentially let a minor tragedy in his past get completely out of hand.

Made some changes to the abilities section of my character. Namely made him more like what a Fallen Archangel of his position would seem(though I hope he is still at a level to not seem overpowered).

I have made some changes of my own to my entry- I basically rewrote the whole Personality section. I just felt I needed to be a little more detailed and practical with my character’s behavior.

Btw folks- the “identity” section should be a mini-summary of WHO the character is, not just his or her name. The idea is to look at it and get a quick idea of what the character is about without rereading the whole entry. Though again, I leave it to you to decide how much detail to post there.

I have been a little busy these past few days (dealing with government stuff, bah) but I’ll start writing the story very soon.

Added a little bit to my “Identity” section for you Wil.

And take your time writing, we ain’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Wil, I added in more to my identity. Hope that’s good, if it isn’t I can add more.

A bit more, as asked… and a few grammer corrections as well

Identity- Arac. Vaguely mythical barbarian/foppish poet with a Byronic hero complex. He’s a shapeshifter spawned when a mortal tried to summon a godlike, arachnoid creature, instead pulling off a son it didn’t bother with creating. His conception fits somewhere inbetween the epitome of the chaotic viking and charming vampire.

Personality- Arac tends towards bitterness, simply because over his exceedingly long course of life, there are few things that do not disappoint or let him down, eventually. It should be noted that despite his apparent cynicism, he is an optimist and his high hopes and expectations for the world are one of the primary reasons it so frequently disappoints him. His outwardly polite demeanour is a thin shield for his usually biting sarcasm and mockery; his most common reaction to events is to subtly make fun of them in a civil enough way that his comment isn’t easy to combat. Arac is also a hopeless romantic in ways that almost always end poorly, especially combined with his self-destructive tendancies.

Appearance- Arac tends to dress in tight-fitting clothes of black, white, grey, and a soft, cold shade of green. Mixing his decadent and primal natures, a large amount of fake fur is usually included. Arac never wears leather, fur, or wool, as matter that was once a part of animals is harder for him to shapeshift than plants, or, ideally, synthetics.

Abilities- Arac’s shapeshifting abilities stem from the fact that he is largely a force of will without much physical manifestation, and merely shapes the physical world around him to his will. He can convert “himself” and some amounts of other matter around him according to his will. Non-living matter is the easiest to convert, followed by plants, followed by animals; conversion is a matter of wills, so sentient, but inanimate objects, would work like animals. His main abilities are his intellect, shapeshifting, and resilience, which can carry him out of nearly any situation alive and intact enough to heal his body by changing its shape. He has a passable knowledge of sorcery, though he never uses it himself, and is fairly adept with most close-combat weapons, including his hands, but actually prefers to avoid conflict, especially considering how outclassed ‘fairly adept’ is in most o fthe battles he becomes embroiled in, instead using his charm to escape situations, or at least put his enemy off-guard enough that the fight is not fair enough as to merit a test of his skill. Mental assaults, magical, psychic, or mundane, tend to be incredibly ineffective against his will. The physical effects of telekinesis or a fireball spell will still harm him, however.

Background: A long life of drifting. Without any real home, origin, or discernable natural form, Arac has little to cling to in the way of an identity, and, as a result, has spent most of his time building one from scratch with extreme determination.

Welcome Arac! Omega has also confirmed to me he will be joining as well, so I expect to start writing by next week at the latest (I would have started already, but OF COURSE more personal problems had to show up. Bah. I’ll fix them soon, don’t worry. The story itself is almost ready.)

I’m just excited for Arac to maybe finally get one of the classic RPGCaga (see, it’s one of those fancy french Cs with a cedille on it so you can say it like an S) long, dramatic histories, like Galloway and people have.

hehehe…sorry I’m late.

Identity
TrkJac, or sometimes Trk

Personality- how he or she (or it) reacts to different situations.
He’s a neutral guy - you might even say “Neutral Good”. He’s not extremely outgoing, but likes to be included and give input. Friends know most of his comments are either from the peanut gallery or dripping with sarcasm. Trys to act all “evil” and “vile” and constantly refers to “Those darn people and there noble causes”, despite the fact that “those darn people” are his friends and acts almost exactly like them. Usually pretty intellegence, enough to figure out some of the more complex schemes, problems, puzzles, or riddles, but often doesn’t understand many jokes.
If faced with a “talkative” adversary, he tends to ignore the speech and go into disable the opponent unless for some reason it seems that letting him talk will provide valuable information.
Treats all members of the guild with respect - they did have to pass his criterium after all - for their fighting ability. He’s fairly certain that many of them make fun of his frequent puns behind his back, but as long as they are good natured about it and follow orders he’s fine with it.
Takes changes of plan in stride. If someting completely unexpected happens (ie. a “good guy” turns out to be a “bad guy”), takes that in stride as well. However, if a situation presents itself with no immediate or reasonable reactions immediately apparent, he will freeze up for a little bit until he can rationalize an answer.
Despite any situation, he looks to turn a profit. His definition of profit is loosely defined to include everything from finances to equiptment to contracts with his guild to favors owed. However, a friend in danger - or maybe an interesting event? - takes priority over profit.

Appearance-
Night Elf ~ Pale skin, pale blue-ish lips, pointy ears.
119, but that’s like 22 to elf.
Male
Silver Hair cropped short and spikey.
Blue Eyes
5’10" (no clue what that is in meters - above average guy height).
140 lbs
Wears "short sleeve"chain-mail armor over torso. Black military fatigue pants. Carries a boarding cutless looted from a ship captain from a mission a while back on a black belt with a silver buckle that has the insignia of his guild on it. Long , black vest-type robe with silver trim over armor and weapons. Polished black boots and black leather driving gloves.

Abilities- what your character can do
Magic: Sorcerer style - magic is more fluid and mostly left up to the intention of the user instead of spells.

Ice magic: As in the ability to draw the heat out of things. Things he has been known to do with this power include…
~Suck the heat out of the air surrounding a creature or foe, thus causing the moisture in the air around them to solidify.
(Blizzaga)
~Use his weapons or armor as a sub-consciece conduit to deal cold damage to foes hit by him or those that hit him.
~Freeze the ground.
~Freeze a foes eyes.
~Suck all of the heat from a foes entire body.
~Freeze metal to more easily shatter.
~Suck the heat out of something else and into himself or another to warm them up.
~If you can imagine it, so have I and so has he. The only real limit is pretty much the range - about 100 meters - and that it has to be at least partially visible.

Light magic: The ability to control the amount of light pphotons in a room.
~Slighly lighten or darken a room, such as darkening a corner to hide in or creating a small light around a corner to distract a guard.
~Something large like a extremely short, permanately blinding flash of light would exhaust him.

Physical Abilities: Very skilled of double blades. Not to great in hand-to-hand (not terribly strong being an elf). Regardless of weapon, tries to move fluidly through a battle, never staying in one-place. He appears to slice an enemy and then moves on.
Twin swords: Not currently used as he’s trying to master one-handed melee with his cutlass. Considered one of the greatest swordsman in his old realm, and quickly proving to be at least one of the better ones here. At his best when in one-on-one battles.
Single Sword: Doing extremely well mastering the cutlass. Not nearly as good fightly aggressivly, as with his twin sword techniques. Excellent on the defensive. Best used in multi-foe battles that can be distracted by each other and/or allies.
Weaknesses: Not all that strong. He needs to rely more on quickness and ability to bring down opponents. He needs to concentrate when casting. Is easily distracted if friends are in danger.

Skills: Longer fingers good for lock picking and playing piano, as well as guitar and other stringed instruments.

Background: The character’s history.
While not new to the RPGC region, he isn’t quite one of those veteran heros of the region. He was raised in the Night elf wood of the East but was asked to leave to to his fascination with weapons and offensive magic at the time. He was considered to young to dable in such things. After leaving, he continued his study of magic and sword technique. At one point he studied with a wizard, but found that form of magic to technical, and moved closer to a sorcery, preferring to often make new spells. After his studies, he wandered about, evetually becoming a mercenary. As a mercenary, he was able to amass a large fortune. He wanted to choose somewhere where his name might be unknown. As such, he used a portion of his fortune to start a guild, called “Trk’s Mercs.” For his new location and base of operations, he chose the RPGCity area. Since then, he’s been part of the usual goof-ball antics and epic rescuing of the world associated with the area.

I hope I’m not too late! This place has been blocked from my work for so long, and for some reason it’s NOT blocked now (but the other forum I’ve been going to is). I’ve always thought these stories were a lot of fun.

Identity- Genericangstyposter if you really want to be formal, but prefers “Ken” or “GAP” (gee ay pee, not gap). It’s easier to say out loud. “Paladin” of Loki

Personality- Alternately really energetic to really low energy. Think of Tigger and Eeyore almost. Not that extreme, but pretty close. Is currently pretty lonely. Even though he is out of college, he is still very much into intellectual pursuits, such as reading philosophy and literature. He is naturally a contrarian, and is most comfortable in an argument (preferably a freindly one). He oftentimes plays Devil’s advocate. He’s a worshipper of the GOOD aspects of Loki and chaos, but is lawful good himself. He doesn’t like the fact that he doesn’t have internet at home. He’s upset that he can’t afford gifts for his friends and family, and feels shame because they are giving HIM gifts.

He also has turned into quite an honorable individual, despite his affiliation with Loki. Loki dubbed him a paladin of Loki as a joke. He’s taken the joke seriously, and tries to act with honor. He esteems humor and philosophical discourse over personal combat, obviously, and only has the ability to use rogue weapons. He likes saps, because you can’t kill someone with a sap, but you can hit them really hard! He has the detect evil ability, but cannot turn undead or smite evil because of his umm… particular powers.

Appearance- Because of his work, he mostly dresses in shirts and ties. He hates ties, though. Oh, how he hates them. He thinks that they’re bloody useless. He feels most comfortable in jeans and tee shirts.

Abilities- He can still make his work turn into reality, like in the last Christmas one he was in. The problem is that he’s been writing personal nonfiction, so that hasn’t been a problem as of late, because the things already exist.

Like many bards, he has the ability to inspire through art. So he can also inspire emotions through fiction, nonfiction, poetry, playwriting, and screenwriting. It’s more practical for him to sing to inspire, though- he can sing just about anything from opera to death metal. Let’s just say he’s working on a death metal opera, because I think that’s funny! <_<;

Unfortunately, because he plays D&D, he has unwittingly had one of his own characters come to life… and he’s an evil one. Daegan (a LE half elven Rogue 3/Master Inquisitive 5) is starting to take on a life of his own, too. Think of a grown up Eric Cartman, only a corrupt private detective. He always keeps his word, but usually only to the letter of the law, not the spirit. He’s pissed off at GAP because he made him have a miserable life, and is the butt of many jokes. He’s used to the city of Sharn, so being in this world has confused him. He has a magical +2 returning keen dagger… which means that he can critical hit you from a distance with sneak attack fairly easy. Very nasty stuff. As a part of his Inquisitive class, he has True Sight, Detect Lies, and Zone of Truth (I think you play D&D, but if not just PM me and I’ll tell you what these do- all once a day). He is also marked by the House Medani, and has Detect Poison 2X a day and Detect Scrying 1X a day, which he has on CONSTANTLY. So he always knows if someone is watching him. He will not hurt children, but has no problem with hurting others- even torturing people. He has a low bluff and diplomacy, but very high intimidate. His lowest score is STR (at 10), and his highest is INT (at 18). I don’t remember the other scores, but if you want them PM me. He needs to be brought back into the world of Eberron, badly.

Background: He mostly exists in the “real world” and tries to ignore his magical powers and RPGC background as much as possible. But he’s finding that it’s impossible to ignore, even though he’d really love to forget his powers. He was born in Italy on an American naval base, moved to California at age 2, then Connecticut at age 4. He moved to Goshen, NY at age 14, and Baldwinsville, NY at age 21. He’s now 24, and he really hates the Syracuse area, so he’s thinking of moving. Just normal, everyday stuff… nothing too big.

But oh yeah… he remembers everything that has happened with Loki, and the Lovecraftian horrors and Santa and… well… yeah. His background is pretty well detailed in the other sagas- his “real life” is pretty boring, and he PRETENDS to prefer that to the excitement. Of course, he’d much rather be a hero than sit on his butt in an office, but what he’s doing right now is… sitting on his butt in an office.

Welcome, GAP! It’s great to have you along. I was wondering why you hadn’t posted more lately. Hope that you enjoy the story!

“Devil’s Advocate”, eh? How apropos…

PS: Sorry I haven’t posted the next Chapter yet, guys, I was ill this weekend. But I promised I wouldn’t overstress myself writing this time, anyway. Don’t worry, I’ll have more stuff this week!

Yay ^^ (I’m glad I was procrastinating studying and came across this. I like it when Wil writes)

Identity- Kairi at RPGC. Zibi anywhere else she wanders.

Personality- At first glance Kairi seems rather anti social and conceited, until you get her talking. Then she’ll talk about anything at a mile a minute(Latest topic of choice, androgynous women in theatre and movies). She is rather bright, and tends to be rather vocal if she decides she doesn’t like a person. She will hold a grudge for nearly forever, but can easily be bribed to like you if you give her something or apologize(i.e. candy). Which can make her a bit of a bad judge of character. She is not exactly an upstanding citizen. She has no qualms with taking from someone if she thinks its because they deserve it. Years of traveling between dimensions ruined her moral code.
If angered she switches personalities and her alternate personality is more violent.
She is quick to anger and quick to trust. She is also easily made happy or sad. Though she’s been working on trying to work a bit harder to steady her emotions.
If something seems like it’ll be fun or challenging she wants to partake in it. She doesn’t like sitting around anywhere for too long. She gets bored, and she doesn’t like being bored.
She’s a flirt. She considers it a compliment to flirt with someone and likes it when folk flirt back.
She is no longer as innocent as she once was, especially when she became aware that she was responsible for the death of her friends and brothers. It took her a bit to come to terms with what she had done, and in the end wound up in a bit of denial. She blames the entire incident on the thing within her. This keeps her sane most of the time.

Appearance- She is 21 and rather cute. Her once blue hair is bleached, so now it’s more white with a greenish tinge and blue roots showing. She wears green goggles to keep it out of her face, since it’s at that awkward not quite long enough to pull back but too long to stay off your face stage. Literally, the goggles, they do nothing. She has dark blue eyes and completely black out whenever she gets ticked off. She’s short, around 5’1. She wears a green haori(like a half kimono) tied at the waist with a studded leather belt. Underneath it she wears a regular pair of shorts with a black really short pleaded skirt over it and black tank topish shirt that reads “Doughnut = coffee cup. It’s not logical, it’s topological.” (hee, math jokes) And around her neck she wears a choker that has a blue jewel dangling from it. She wears sneakers, because you can’t run in heels. Also, she has a shiney! lifts up shirt and shows off opal belly button ring
She does that too(when not wearing the haori, because she really likes having a piercing and likes to show people how pretty it is.
She is half Siren.

Abilities- She is a summoner. She can summon anything that is water based(water elementals and all that jazz). She also has some basic hand to hand combat skills. Her specialty is aikido, which specializes in using the energy of the opponent against them. She carries a dagger, but never really uses it unless she’s trying to cut a steak or something. And knows one healing spell.
She can also dimension hop from time to time, but she can’t control this power. It just pops up when she needs it most.
And her singing can at distract any male within listening range. It effects some more than others.

Background:
Kairi is from a world she destroyed a few years back when she wound up going a little mad and kind of caused the world to blow up. She went by another name then. She’s possessed by one of the Gods of her home world that had been sealed away for fear that it would end their world on a whim. Which it kind of did when it possessed Kairi. Most of the time the God doesn’t do anything, but it reacts to Kairi’s emotions and acts accordingly. Kairi is now aware of its presence and does her best to keep her short temper and screwy emotions under control. She used to be on a grand quest to find her father, who was the only family member she had left after she blew up her world, but decided that was boring and she didn’t really know him at all anyways. She also is not certain if he was ever alive.

She now makes the best of her time by flirting with anyone she deems pretty or interesting hoping to get a free meal or something nice out of them if she plays her cards right. She sees no harm in flirting since as long as you establish early on that you’re not interested in a relationship, it’s just harmless fun. =p
She’s good friends with GG because she likes cats.

Kai!! Nice to see you again! Thanks for joining. You’ve given me a few more ideas, too. I’ll need to rewrite a few things but you’re still in time. Expect to see them VERY soon!!

Kai, now there’s a fun nickname I never thought of. I like it.

Yay! I’m so excited and glad I wasn’t too late. ^^

Is a half siren one fourth human or one fourth fish(/bird)?

edit: heh, touché.

or mayhaps 1/4 blue flashy lights?

Damn! I’ve forgotten to check the media board lately. I hope I’m not to late for maybe a cameo appearance or more. You pulled a fast one on me Wil! :hahaha;

Identity- Xero, Bahamut (king) of dragons

Personality- Very intelligent, intelligent thinker who’s travelled the multiverse before stumbling into RPGC. In his court, he’s usually pretty formal, but with friends, and especially in battle, he’s very easy going and usually cracks jokes with his enemies.

Appearance- A relatively small (only stading about 8 feet tall) green dragon who ears a navy blue cloak, wears a golden circlet on his head and carries a rod with a dragon’s head that glows with his eyes when he casts magic.

Abilities- Master of black magic, but dabble in time magic as well. As a dragon he also has the ability to fly, scales (which are about as tough a knight’s steal armor), and sharp claws.

Background: Xero’s kingdom was attacked years ago and his parents we killed by the intruders. After taking over his father’s duty as Bahamut and repelling the invaders, he rebuilt his land as the univeral realm for learning. His kingdom is the destination that welcomes all manners of magicians, scholars, and artisans seeking to perfect their craft in the name of impoving all of civilzation.

With his kingdom’s continous growth, Xero got the urge to travel again, leaving his homeland in the hand of his trusted advisors. In his travels he came upon RPGC where he was welcomed warmly and has been an unofficial guardian of that land and protects it as his own.

Well, I’m probably too late. Haven’t been around for a while.
But meh.
Either way, you’re always welcome to use me in any story you feel like.

I’ll post an update on the me-character here sometime later just in case.
