A question about a game on the "Wanted" list for RPGclassics...

(I mailed Cidolfas this morning and promptly got a response telling me to post this on the boards as he hasn’t play the games)

The title is Heroes of Might and Magic and its sequels. I understand this game is certainly RPG influenced and the role playing portion of levels and artifacts is very strong, but this presents a problem for the intrepid hero who plans to build this shrine…

(me)

What should be added to the shrine?

I’ve so far thought of units, artifacts, heroes, general strategies and level guides, but what else should be there?

I’m going by HoMM3 here, but if the same things are present in HoMM1, make it so. Units, towns, things you can make in towns, spells, maps, quests, etc. Basically, all you could possibly need help with.

How 'bout Misc. info on it’s history and downloads n’shit? Fun stuff.

You don’t need that stuff, Kagato.

Tenchimaru pretty much said it: Units, weapons, spells, towns, maps, and so on. A couple of general tips on the Quests wouldn’t be a bad thing either.
Linking to a page with scenarios, and so on, wouldn’t be a bad thing either.

I would also include a detailed analysis of hero skills since these are so much more important in this version. Also because when this game first came out the people I played it with found the hero skills very confusing.

Dude, good luck >_<. That game is incredible extense. At least that’s playable, unlike the fourth game.

Pictures. Lots of pictures. And if you don’t want to make the necessary sections with the appropriate amount of details , don’t ask about what you should do and bitch at our suggestions. Shrines are hard. Shrines are good because of the amount of work we put in em.

And the 4th game is very doable.

I’m ready to do my best. But why the warning about bitching?

Buh? I’m not shrining it, fool :stuck_out_tongue: I just played it, Starstorm is shrining it. I’m doing the DD:SOM and BFM shrines, as well as remaking the OoT shrine and co-maintaining the Shadowrun shrine. No HoMM in there :stuck_out_tongue:

Xelo, considering you don’t have a single shrine under your belt, and the one you have been “working on” you’ve been working on for over a year and a half, you’re not the one to tell Kagato what sections shrines don’t need. A miscellanious section with history etc. can be quite interesting, it helps with the appeal of the shrine. Not to mention if RPGC were just shrines and nothing else (ie no message boards, fan-art, fan-fics etc) this site would be incredibly boring. So things other then just straight facts is a good thing for a shrine to have.

Make sure you have complete walkthroughs to complement your stratgies. For examples look and Weiila’s and I’s for Heroes III here. The fouth game was good despite it’s flaws. I can’t wait for “Heroes V” although I probably won’t be able to play it because my laptop has only a 8 MB graphics card and it can’t be upgraded :frowning: . For the best “Heroes” info go to Celestial Heavens.
