A discussion: Should older games be re-released for other systems?

Games such as Tales of Phantasia, which is being released for GBA.

Well, what do YOU think?

If they are somehow improved upon. ToP will be English and Portable, for instance.

Depends. I’d like a release of Hyper Dimension over here :stuck_out_tongue:

YES, DAMN YOU!!!

I need Fantasy Zone to come out for the ps2!

Just like what happened to SNES RPG’s in PS.

if they were to release any of the snes ff games on gba, i’d buy 'em…

I wouldn’t mind Custer’s Revenge on the PS2.

Errr…

I second the “Hell yes.”

Some of my fondest memories were of playing LTTP on SNES.

Do you really have to ask me?

Duh. Even better if the games come in combos and/or with improvements.

Of course!

As a gamer, I can get very nostalgic… heck, I went to pains to make sure my Pentium 4 machine could run old Dos games (I am talking games like the original QFGs) with sound…

It would be nice to play those games without so much messing around… I still don’t understand why people got so offended when Sierra re-released there classic games in VGA format.

You know a Link to the Past as been rereleased to the GBA?

I think they should re-graphic them, but keep the originals in the game too. Like they did with pac man, the original game secret was better than the game itself.

Remakes they should make:

Any and all FFs
DBZ: Hyper Dimension (one of three good DBZ games)
DW4 (come on, damn you!)

Yes, but only if:

They don’t pevert the original graphics and story. Editing is alright (The Breath of Fire 2 port anyone?).
They attempt to put more then one game in a set, I have no reason to buy a game I already have unless it’s either greatly improved or they make it worth my money (The PS Collection did this nicely, but it still needed some improvement. Like running…)

I would vouch for that, but won’t.

I’m also with re-released games, as long as they’re not “altered” when they’re released onto whatever system. Reliving the nostalgic games is always fun. :stuck_out_tongue:

Another reason is that some of the games they’re releasing (ToP, for instance) are rather hard to find for their original system.

'specially ff3j and ff6…

I think that a new version of Tyrian would be great beyond all description, specially if they were to leave the original storyline, but improve the game engine and maybe add one or two extra episodes.
